South East Asia Youth for Changeā¦.Yes We Can! That’s the hope and the dream we seek, The CHANGE!. South East Asia is home to 200 million youth aged between 15 and 35 years. These are young minds that want to see change and they are open to new possibilities which can help them to achieve these changes. Youth Engagement Summit 2009 is one event to engaging young peoples to see what they want to do with change and connect their ideas with world change’s icon and the business leaders. We, all youth in South East Asia (Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam) dream and seek the Change. Change for personal life, change for our community, change for our environment, and change for our country, for better living in the earth.
YES2009, is also the pinnacle of a grassroots movement which is sweeping South East Asia at this very moment. YES2009 is part of the big movement, the SEAchannge. SEAchange is an ongoing mobilization of young individuals across South East Asia who collectively believe that they can make a difference in their own lives, their communities, and their countries. The Collective efforts of the YES2009 organizers in engaging the youths behind the SEAchange movement is the perfect example of how connecting with the region of youth can change everything.
The Summit is done, but the Change is just the beginning. With the YES2009 momentum, the SEAchange youth report is declared, and the signs are clear. Personal change: It’s not just about helping myself, but how I can help others; Community change: It’s not about change in leadership, but change in the mindset of the people; Campaigns we support: It’s not about the issues, It’s about the impact. With this report we know what should we do. YES2009, bring the possibilities for change we seek to make it real. There is many global issues we can share and find out the solution with hand to hand way. About poverty, education, peace & human rights, environment, health, and many more issues. Still focus, commit, and stay in connection with the collectively action, we can make it happen. Changes we seek is already started when the summit is began. [..]
